Back  at school

Talking doc

What we have been doing at school?

Wow! normally we would not have to start our programs so quickly, but alas there is much to do!

Last year, we learned it is better to be prepared than to be scared.

So we organised and practised how we would learn, even though we are stuck at home.

This week we will practise going onto a zoom call at school and then later at home.

If you do not have a device we will organise work so you can be ready.

Everyone will take a lockdown book home on our first week.

It can be used to do your spelling homework in.

Not at school again.

Level 3

Kia ora e te whānau

If you are an essential worker then there is a skeleton crew on and school is open for you.

However, for the rest of us the song is different.

We have all returned to Level 3 in Auckland.
Stay in your bubble, stay safe and be kind.
If there is anyone worrying what can children learn while they are home.

Area 1 basic facts Maths site for those who may have misplaced sheets. Prototec
One thing we know now for sure is that our basic facts 1-20 in addition and subtraction needs a lot of attention.
I sent home the two forms on Monday. The goal is to complete the 100 problems in 3minutes.

Area 2
Chapter book writing I will put the digital books up in a button. Definitely lots of work there to be done I will be checking and editing them.

Area 3
Genius hour - it would be good to have a plan as to what you are going to do here.

If we are still in level 3 we will start zoom classes on Monday and I will send out appointment times.

Talking doc will be available if you have any questions.

Kia ora
Whaea Annitta

well and we will miss you!

Science time!  We have placed uncooked whole eggs inside a container with vinegar - amazingly the shells dissolved in the vinegar.  We were left with a slightly firm rubbery feeling egg... now we will test how strong they really are without their protective shells.  Watch us drop the eggs... who's egg can be dropped from the highest measurement?
Skateboarding School is scary and fun!  We always make sure we are safe by wearing knee, elbow and hard guards and most importantly we wear helmets!  Each session we get better, braver and have better balance and more confidence!
To show Tina and Lesley in the office how much we appreciate them and all the hard work they do we visited the office to sing some waiata.

Our Acrostic Poems

These are our Acrostic poems. We wrote poems about various weird and wonderful things. Our poems cover a range of topics about everyday life. We liked writing acrostic poems because it gave us the opportunity to share with our class and whanau something interesting about ourselves in a new and exciting way.
