Kia ora whānau,

Welcome back to school! We have had a lovely start to the year the sun is shining so don’t forget your hat and togs! Room 7 goes swimming on a Monday and Friday and sometimes we get to go on other days too so try and bring your togs everyday.
As we are a year 4 class tamariki are required to wear a face mask (unless of course they have an exemption). Please make sure you pop in a few spare masks in their bags just in case.

If you are feeling unwell please stay home and let myself or the office know.

Welcome back Whanau to Term 4!

Online learning will continue until we can return to school safely. In the meantime you will find your own personal folder with lots of cool things to do in our Google Classroom ( please contact me if you need the link). We will continue to use Seesaw on a daily basis to post your completed work, for our daily message and to do the roll. Zoom meetings will be every day. This will be our online classroom where tamariki get to see each other and discuss and do their learning.

If you need to contact me please email me at ramoore@hns.school.nz

2021 Term 3 Lockdown

Kia ora whānau,

Welcome to another lockdown rollercoaster of learning!

We will be using Seesaw as our classroom whilst we are in lockdown. If you have not received an invitation or are having trouble logging on please contact me at ramoore@hns.school.nz.

Here is the link for Seesaw: app.seesaw.me/s/755-202-888

For those that don’t have access to a device here are some things that I would like you to focus on. Remember to use your lockdown book that was sent home with you.

Write a diary: Each day write about your thoughts and feelings and what you have been doing. Remember to use capital letters and full stops in your writing and don’t forget to check your spelling!

Our topic for this term is the Olympics and Paralympics: I have set some activities on Seesaw so do take a look and have a go. Maybe have an Olympics sprint race with your whānau or come up with a new Olympic game that we can all have a go at when we return.

Maths: Work on your times tables especially your 2x, 5x & 10x.

Get creative and make something! Here are a few ideas for you… Lego, playdough ( you can even make your own playdough), bake some cookies, make a hut, write about what you made and what worked/didn’t work.

Go outside and find leaves, flowers and twigs and make a picture with them, take a photo of your creation and share with me via Seesaw or email.

Make sure you take a break for morning tea and lunch!

Do some fitness each day: This could be a walk, bike ride or kicking a ball around your garden (just don’t aim for any windows). I will be going for nice long walks with Fred.

The work I have set you is meant to be done on paper so do keep any work you have done and bring it into school on our return so that I can mark it.

Most importantly, have fun with your learning!

Be safe in your bubble and be kind to yourself and your whānau

Mrs Amoore
