Hello everyone! I descend from the Kaipara and Waikato area and am of Samoan descent also.
Ko Lorraine Taogaga tōku ingoa. Lorraine Taogaga is my name and the tamariki and teachers call me, Whaea Lorraine.
I have lived in the Henderson area for 15 years and was born and grew up in Te Awaroa,Helensville.
Since last year, I have had the privilege of teaching te reo Māori across all year levels at Henderson North School.
I love teaching te reo Māori at Henderson North School.
Helping our students understand that te reo Māori (the language of this land)and their own languages are precious.
A Māori phrase - ""Ko te reo Māori, he taonga tuku iho nō ngā tūpuna"" - a treasure handed down from our ancestors.
