Kia ora and kamusta, I’m Joan.

I’m a New Entrant and Year 1 teacher who feels privileged to support tamariki as they begin their school journey. I’m passionate about creating a warm, safe, and welcoming classroom environment where every child feels secure, valued, and ready to learn. I enjoy guiding young learners as they develop their early reading, writing, and social skills through fun, meaningful, and engaging experiences.

Building strong, positive relationships with students and their whānau is at the heart of my teaching, as working together helps support each child’s growth and fosters a lifelong love of learning.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy cooking and travelling with my family, and I like bringing new ideas and experiences from these into my teaching practice.
